Yesterday Stern Pinball revealed its latest pinball machine, Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye. At the exact same time, members of the media were invited to Stern's headquarters in Elk Grove Village, Illinois to see the game in person and meet the design team. Unfortunately, I already took several days off at the end of last week so I couldn't attend. Those who were able to make it to the event have been sharing lots of thoughts about, pictures of and video of the game. Below we have two gameplay streams of Transformers pinball in action, courtesy of the YouTube channels Grownup Adjacent Daily Pinball and COOLTOY. The game's code is very far along, so hopefully we will get the official Stern Pinball gameplay stream soon.Next up we have an image of the back of the upcoming remake of Williams' 1996 game Tales of the Arabian Nights by Pedretti Gaming, courtesy of the Facebook page of the distributor Mr. Pinball Australia. We can't see much in the picture, we we do get a glimpse of the cabinet's side art and we get to see that it has purple powder coating and LED lights that project off of the back of the backbox. Last I heard, the game is pretty much ready to reveal and Pedretti was just waiting for some final approvals to show it off. Hopefully we'll get to see it soon. If I was revealing the game, I definitely would make every effort to show it off next week in the window between Stern's Transformers reveal and Jersey Jack Pinball's reveal of Sonic the Hedgehog by Steve Ritchie in early June. Speaking of Sonic, based on what I've been hearing, the less expensive Arcade Edition of the game will be back. I hope so, I think that Sonic is a fantastic theme for locations. The game also appears to be based on the video game, not the movies.
I've been meaning to share these next cool videos all week, but we've had so much great pinball news that I haven't had a chance to yet. The YouTube channel DRI374 always shares great videos from the Golden State Pinball Festival. This year I want to highlight three machines that he shared, two cool homebrews and Turner Pinball's Yukon Yeti.
