I've got a good mix of pinball and arcade news for everyone this morning. First up, yesterday Jersey Jack Pinball achieved a milestone for its latest game, Harry Potter - they launched Code version 1.0. Kudos to the folks at JJP for reaching this level of completeness in the code only five months after the game launched. That's a far cry from the days of the code for Pirates of the Caribbean. This is a big update too, it contains two new Mini Wizard Modes, "Battle of Hogwarts" and "Deathly Hallows", AND The Wizard mode "The Boy Who Lived"! The Company continues to crank out Harry Potter at its Elk Grove Village factory. I had assumed that they would be building Harry Potters for months and months, but I'm starting to hear rumblings that we may actually get to see JJP's next game sometime this Spring, perhaps in time for the Texas Pinball Festival (March 20-22) or sooner. The next game is strongly rumored to be a Steve Ritchie designed Sonic the Hedgehog pin. "⚡️ Code Update Alert! ⚡️ Your Harry Potter Pinball machine just got even more magical! 🪄 Version 1.00 is here, packed with new layers of gameplay, visuals, and voice calls that deepen every spell-slinging moment under glass. ⚔️ Battle of Hogwarts – Mini Wizard Mode Defend Hogwarts from Voldemort’s forces in an all-out battle, unlocked after four multiballs. 🔮 Deathly Hallows – Mini Wizard Mode Collect all three Hallows as Hermione guides you through the Tale of Beedle the Bard, unlocked after collecting 200 Quidditch Points, 3 HARRY-Lane completions, and 4 Lessons. 🧙 The Boy Who Lived – Wizard Mode Track down and destroy all seven Horcruxes in the ultimate showdown. Only the bravest witches and wizards will prevail. These updates are made for true witches, wizards, and muggles alike. Update your machine today and experience the next chapter in pinball magic! ✨" unnamed.jpg
Next up, take a break from work for a few minutes and open up Google's homepage on your computer. Today's "Google Doodle" at the top of the page is a special Halloween version of Pac-Man. If you click on it, it brings up a playable spooky Pac-Man game right in your browser that you can control with the arrow keys. How cool is that? Also yesterday, Pinball Brothers shared some new gameplay footage from its latest title, Predator. The clip shows the game's "Hunter Multiball." "Enjoy THE HUNTER MULTIBALL !!! The latest jungle war chaos from Predator Pinball. The night is torn wide open by plasma fire and grenade blasts, survive long enough and carve your name into the high score list, where generations will witness the legend you became. Moahahahahahahaha !!!! Order your Predator Pinball today!"

Obviously, I'm a huge fan of arcade history and retro gaming. As such, Atari's Digital Eclipse studios is one of my favorite game developers. They have launched numerous classic gaming collections over the years. Today the studio released it's newest game the "Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection." I've always been more of a Street Fighter guy than a Mortal Kombat guy, but this massive collection looks amazing. It's filled with TONS of documentary-style interviews with the creators of the game. I already downloaded my copy onto my Steam Deck. I can't wait to dig into it tonight. Digital Eclipse Mortal Kombat

This morning, the folks at the LoserKid Pinball Pinball Podcast released a great interview with the designer of one of the fastest sell-outs in recent pinball history, Karl DeAngelo, about his new Barrels of Fun game Winchester Mystery House.
