What Locations and States Have the Most Pinball Machines?
By knapparcade
A website called "Brilliant Maps" recently took data from the incredible pinball location finding website Pinball Maps and pulled out some really cool facts. First of all, check out the sweet Pinball Heat Map of the United States that they created. So cool! The article gave me a hitlist for pinball Road Trips. The following are the arcades that have the most pinball machines in the United States according to the piece: 1) Past Times Arcade Location: Girard, OH Machines: 390 2) Pinball Hall of Fame Location: Las Vegas, NV Machines: 350 3) Pinball Perfection Location: West View, PA Machines: 348 4) Next Level Pinball Museum Location: Hillsboro, OR Machines: 305 5) Pinball PA Location: Aliquippa, PA Machines: 185 6) Game Galaxy Location: Smyrna, TN Machines: 178 7) The Pinball Palace Location: Brunswick, GA Machines: 166 8) Wizard’s World Location: Fort Wayne, IN Machines: 164 9) Atomic Pinball Location: Wood River, IL Machines: 125 10) District 82 Pinball Location: De Pere, WI Machines: 114 On our "Quest for 1,000 Pins" Road Trip a couple of years ago, Rob and I hit the #1, #3 and #5 largest locations all in one swoop. That was pretty epic. I'm going to make it a goal to hit the rest of the spots on the list at some point over the next couple of years. One HUGE location that is not mentioned on this list is the Ann Arbor VFW Pinball Museum. It is a lot like the Museum of Pinball used to be in Banning, California. The VFW supposedly has over 525 pins, but it only opens up to the public once or twice per year so I guess that it doesn't count for the purpose of the list. Rob and I already have our flights and tickets for the October VFW show booked. I'm going to take pictures until my arms fall off for everyone lol. https://vfwpinball.com/ As far as states go, guess which state has the most pinball machines? California. Here's the list: 1) California Machines: 2,678 Operators: 905 2) Pennsylvania Machines: 2,058 Operators: 348 3) Ohio Machines: 1,770 Operators: 328 4) Washington Machines: 1,611 Operators: 404 5) Michigan Machines: 1,509 Operators: 284 6) Oregon Machines: 1,463 Operators: 410 7) Florida Machines: 1,274 Operators: 267 8) Illinois Machines: 1,212 Operators: 333 9) Wisconsin Machines: 1,185 Operators: 476 10) Texas Machines: 1,164 Operators: 229 Pennsylvania and Ohio coming in strong. Nice. All told according to Pinball Map and Brilliant Maps, the United States has 31,344 pinball machines on location. Kudos to Marco Specialties for bringing this one to my attention. https://brilliantmaps.com/pinball-map-usa/ https://pinballmap.com/
